NORMAL HAIR FALL

NORMAL HAIR FALL :It is totally normal to lose some hair each day. Most people lose about 50 to 100 hairs every day. Normally, when hair falls out, new hairs start forming in the same place as the old ones. But when someone really has hair loss, the hairs don't grow back. they do grow, but there aren't enough of them to take the place of what's already fallen out or the ratio of hair falling is much more than the growth.CAUSE OF HAIR FALL :A number of things can cause excessive hair loss. For example, about 3 or 4 months after an illness or a major surgery, you may suddenly lose a large amount of hair. This hair loss is related to the stress of the illness and is temporary. Hormonal problems may cause hair loss. If your thyroid gland is overactive or under active, your hair may fall out. Many women notice hair loss about three months after they've had a baby. Some medicines can cause hair loss eg. Birth control pills and antidepressants. This type of hair loss improves when you stop taking the medicine. Children may have hair loss caused by a fungal infection of the scalp. Stress to a large extend cause hairfall. Change of city causes hairfall due to the change in water. The term "common baldness" usually means male-pattern baldness. Male-pattern baldness is the most common cause of hair loss in men. Men who have this type of hair loss usually have inherited the trait. Men who start losing their hair at an early age tend to develop more extensive baldness. In male-pattern baldness, hair loss typically results in a receding hairline and baldness on the top of the head.
Management of hairfall :Taking Right CareIf you want to keep hair healthy, start by feeding it from the inside out.
Balanced Diet for Healthy Hair Eating a diet that has lots of vitamins, minerals and a well-balanced one will make hair strong and shiny. Extra Care while Combing Be careful when you're combing your hair after washing it because it's extra delicate when it's wet. Avoid Chemical Damage Go easy on the styling products and straightners, which can damage hair and make it weak. Tie Them Loose When you're combing or brushing your hair, do it gently, and keep braids and ponytails loose so they don't hurt your hair by pulling it too tightly.
Homeopathy for hair loss :Most of the hair loss conditions can be very effectively treated within homeopathy. The treatment depends on the causative factor and the constitution of the patient as well.

What is Sinusitis, Its symptoms & How best to treat it

What is sinusitis? You get up in the morning feeling lousy, with a heavy head a feeling which Persists through the day wanting to sleep all the time, you're coughing and sneezing and tired and achy. You think that you might be getting a cold. Later, when the medicines you've been taking to relieve the symptoms of the common cold are not working, you finally drag yourself to the doctor. After listening to your history of symptoms, examining your face and forehead, and perhaps doing a sinus X-ray, the doctor says you have sinusitis. What are sinuses?Sinuses are hollow air spaces in the human body. When people say,"I'm having a sinus attack," they usually are referring to symptoms in one or more of four pairs of cavities, or sinuses, known as paranasal sinuses. These cavities, located within the skull or bones of the head surrounding the nose, include the:Frontal sinuses over the eyes in the brow areaMaxillary sinuses inside each cheekboneEthmoid sinuses just behind the bridge of the nose and between the eyesSphenoid sinuses behind the ethmoids in the upper region of the nose and behind the eyesEach sinus has an opening into the nose for the free exchange of air and mucus, and each is joined with the nasal passages by a continuous mucous membrane lining. Therefore, anything that causes a swelling in the nose-an infection, an allergic reaction, or an immune reaction-also can affect the sinuses. Air trapped within a blocked sinus, along with pus or other secretions, may cause pressure on the sinus wall. The result is the sometimes intense pain of a sinus attack. Similarly, when air is prevented from entering a paranasal sinus by a swollen membrane at the opening, a vacuum can be created that also causes pain. What are the symptoms of sinusitis? The location of your sinus pain depends on which sinus is affected.Headache when you wake up in the morning is typical of a sinus problem.Pain when your forehead over the frontal sinuses is touched may indicate that your frontal sinuses are inflammed.Heaviness in the head while bending the head.Infection in the maxillary sinuses can cause your upper jaw and teeth to ache and your cheeks to become tender to the touch.Since the ethmoid sinuses are near the tear ducts in the corner of the eyes, inflammation of these cavities often causes swelling of the eyelids and tissues around your eyes, and pain between your eyes. Ethmoid inflammation also can cause tenderness when the sides of your nose are touched, a loss of smell, and a stuffy nose.Although the sphenoid sinuses are less frequently affected, infection in this area can cause earaches, neck pain, and deep aching at the top of your head. Most people with sinusitis, however, have pain or tenderness in several locations, and their symptoms usually do not clearly indicate which sinuses are inflamed.Other symptoms of sinusitis can includeFeverWeaknessTirednessA cough that may be more severe at nightRunny nose or nasal congestionwhat are some causes of acute sinusitis? Most cases of acute sinusitis start with a common cold, which is caused by a virus. These viral colds do not cause symptoms of sinusitis, but they do inflame the sinuses. Both the cold and the sinus inflammation usually go away without treatment in 2 weeks. The inflammation, however, might explain why having a cold increases your likelihood of developing acute sinusitis. For example, your nose reacts to an invasion by viruses that cause infections such as the common cold or flu by producing mucus and sending white blood cells to the lining of the nose, which congest and swell the nasal passages. When this swelling involves the adjacent mucous membranes of your sinuses, air and mucus are trapped behind the narrowed openings of the sinuses. When your sinus openings become too narrow, mucus cannot drain properly. This increase in mucus sets up prime conditions for bacteria to multiply.Self-help in relieving symptoms…steam inhalation can soothe inflamed sinus cavities.Gentle heat applied over the inflamed area is comforting.

URIC ACID INCREASED IN BLOOD

Deposition of uric acid crystals in the joint spaces and or in the connective tissue of the joints. It is a very painful condition causing swelling redness heat pain and stiffness of the joint. Deposits of uric acid, called tophi can appear as lumps under the skin around the joints. Mainly affects the big toe but it can affect other joints like gout instep, ankles, heels, knees, wrists, fingers, and elbows Increased uric acid is not a disease and by itself is not dangerous. However, if excess uric acid levels lead to formation of crystals between the joints, gout can develop. In some individuals excess levels also lead to formation of kidney stones. Please remember not all who have high levels of uric acid, develop joint pain. What is uric acid? How does uric acid levels increase in our blood and what precautions can be taken to avoid it?Uric acid is a waste product in our body and is eliminated by our kidneys. Uric acid is produced from the breakdown of a certain kind of a substance known as purine. This substance also produced in our body and is also present in some of the food that we eat. Uric Acid increases due to mainly three conditions? firstly if there is an over production of uric acid in our body, secondly if there is a decreased removal of uric acid by the kidneys; thirdly if one takes excess amounts of food which are high in purine.
Foods high in purines which should be avoided by those who are having levels of uric . Alcohol intake slows down the removal of uric acid. Being overweight also adds to the increased levels. A simple blood test (serum uric acid) at a local lab can be good enough for an evaluation.
